Daniel shifted on the porch, instantly happy that Grant’s scent hung over the railings and door like an invisible garland. He knew his Alpha was in the house, and his wolf turned somersaults in the soul-space with unmitigated glee.

He reached for the door handle when the door was flung open from inside, setting him off balance. He stumbled over the threshold as Grant gripped his upper arms, half-picking him up and shoving him roughly against the wall.

A mirror clattered to the floor, shattering in an explosion of glass and metal as Grant threw Daniel against the door frame, leaving yet another dent in the plaster.

Daniel struggled halfheartedly, mostly to incite Grant’s grip to tighten further. Grant growled, sniffing him behind the ears, snapping his teeth together threateningly. His hips pressed forcefully against Daniel’s, digging a gouge along his waist from his leather belt.

For a moment the Alpha paused, his face just millimeters away from Daniel’s. His eyes were heavy lidded with desire. His breath puffed out in searing bursts laced with the musk of lust. Daniel parted his lips expectantly.

Grant’s kisses were hot and urgent, and Daniel immediately felt his body begin to respond. He wrapped his arms around Grant’s shoulders and pulled him tightly to his chest, letting Grant feel his racing heartbeat through the thin fabric of his t-shirt.

“You’re home early,” Grant muttered huskily into Daniel’s neck.

“I wanted to tell you we’re hunting tonight,” Daniel growled back. “But we can be late… Why are you still dressed?”

“So you can rip this off me,” Grant replied playfully.

Leveraging his heel against the wall, Daniel lowered his shoulder and tackled Grant, momentarily throwing him off balance toward the sofa. Grant stumbled backwards, grinning, then crouched like a wrestler. He raised his open hands in midair and beckoned slightly.

Come and get me! his wolf called out.

Daniel’s wolf took only a heartbeat to respond. Going low, he ducked his head and threw his shoulder into Grant’s waist, then pushed him back several steps. He knew that his lower center of gravity was about his only advantage over Grant’s superior size. Grant’s breath escaped in a huff as Daniel pushed him back toward the bed.

Reaching over Daniel’s back, he locked his arms around his waist and squeezed, lifting him off the ground and threatening him with a piledriver. Not ready to go down so easy, Daniel flipped his legs back and crossed his ankles behind Grant’s head.

“Ha!” Grant howled out joyfully, admiring his partner’s creativity and agility. He had always felt his hulk-like size was overrated. Watching Daniel’s eager, slippery grace made him envy his deft ability to attack.

But enough. He loved being teased, but there was a time to be done with teasing.

As Daniel leveraged him slowly forward, Grant buckled his right leg and sent them both crashing into the side table. Though he was careful to not seriously injure himself or Daniel, the table exploded into a hundred splinters.

Daniel hit the wood surface and slid off it in one smooth motion.
